Council Corner: December 2025

Our regular November meeting was short and efficient. We took care of all our required business and much of our Old Business. This allows us to to step into a new year for our council members with a clear agenda beginning at our December meeting.

We finalized our partnership with ELCA missionary Pr. Bridget Gautieri who is serving in Germany. Pr. Bridget is a member of Pr. Chuck’s first year cohort and he has great respect for her and her ministry. This partnership gives us an opportunity to learn and grow and deepen our relationship with our ELCA. Look for information on Pr. Bridget and her work in the upcoming months.

Our Annual Meeting was very successful. We elected new council members. We welcome Mark Hopkins, Sandy Lamb, Lea Ann Quimby and Sue Sterner for a 2 3-year term and John Andersen, Pam Dilg and Michelle Martino to their 1 3-year term. We heard about the life of our congregation through the Annual Report. We passed a budget that will allow us to continue to live out our mission statement to Follow Jesus, Embrace All, and Serve Neighbors. Thanks to everyone who attended.

As our December Council meeting approaches, I will conclude my third term as President. Assuming a leadership position presents unique challenges and responsibilities, including active engagement in the life of our congregation, consistent participation in meetings, thoughtful decision-making for the benefit of our members, and prudent stewardship of the resources entrusted to us. The individuals serving on the St. Mark’s leadership team embody these principles and more. Their dedication ensures that all necessary tasks are completed with responsibility and respect. The commitment demonstrated by our current council members has made my tenure as President both fulfilling and enjoyable. It has been an honor to work alongside individuals who share a deep commitment to St. Mark’s. Thank You.

Denise
