Pastor Chuck’s Corner: May 2025
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6 NIV)
I had a conversation with a person recently that went something like this: “Ican’tbelievethat it’sMay,nextwillbeMother’sDaythenMemorialDaythensummer. Where does the time go?” Like many folks, this person was amazed at how fast the times was flying by. I too find myself feeling like life is a run on sentence occasionally.
So, if that is you as well; together let’s all take a deep breath in hopes of helping us stay focused on the here and now. I hope that helped, I know it did for me.
I write these thoughts for the May Vision a few short days after Easter Sunday. Before I go any further, to all of you who helped out in any of the various ways that made our celebration of the Lord’s Resurrection such a wonderful and beautiful time: My deepest thanks. The community of St. Mark’s appreciates your efforts!
I ask you now to please read the scripture at the top of the page again. Remembering that we continue into the season of Easter, a time for renewal, I ask you to consider what is that good work that God has begun in you?
I believe this is an excellent time to address this question in each of our lives because the resurrection of the Lord Jesus is not simply to be thought of as something that happened in history. Instead, though it is true Jesus was raised at a particular place and time, that wonderful display of God’s love is something for us to ponder and thank God for daily.
My prayer for me and all of us is this: That we will come to see what is the new thing(s) God is doing for us individually and as a church. As this comes into a clearer focus, may we all strive to live into it with hearts overflowing with love and expectation. Thanking God for all of this, may we be ever assured of the Almighty’s continued presence in and around us all. Amen
Be blessed and be a blessing,
Pastor Chuck
