Council Corner: May 2026
Dear Friends in Christ,
As the beauty of spring unfolds around us, I am reminded of these words from
Song of Solomon 2:11–12: “See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.”
What a fitting reminder that God is always at work bringing new life, new energy,
and new hope. As we enter May, I am grateful not only for the changing season
but also for the many ways I continue to see God’s faithfulness at work here at
St. Mark’s through your service, kindness, and commitment to our church family.
At our most recent Council meeting, we approved several important items that
help support the ministry and future of St. Mark’s. Council accepted the March
meeting minutes, and a few highlights are listed below:
●Tech Station Build
We are pleased that the tech station build is nearly complete. This investment
helps strengthen our worship experience and supports how we share ministry
with one another and beyond our walls.
●St. Mark’s 75th Anniversary
Looking ahead to October 2027, Council began discussing plans for celebrating
St. Mark’s 75th anniversary. This is a special milestone in the life of our church,
and I am excited to begin thinking about how we can honor our history while
celebrating all that is still to come.
●Baldwinsville Community Band
Council also approved moving forward with welcoming back the Baldwinsville
Community Band in November for a Veterans Day performance. Opportunities
like this are a wonderful way to connect with our broader community and open
our doors in fellowship and gratitude.
●Website Updates
Work is continuing on needed website updates so we can better communicate
with members and visitors alike.
Personally, I continue to be thankful for the privilege of serving as your Council
President. This season of church life is filled with both opportunity and
responsibility, and I am grateful to serve alongside such dedicated council
members, ministry leaders, and congregation members. Your willingness to show
up, serve, and care for one another is part of what makes St. Mark’s such a
welcoming and faithful church home.
As we move through this season of renewal, may we continue to look for the
ways God is growing something new among us — in our worship, in our service,
and in our life together.
Respectfully submitted,
Lea Ann Quimby
Council President, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
