Council Corner: January 2026

Dear St. Mark’s Family,

As we step into a brand-new year, I’m grateful for the opportunity to introduce myself to you through The Vision. My name is Lea Ann Quimby, and I’m honored to serve as your incoming Council President for 2026. I’m excited for what God has in store for St. Mark’s, and I look forward to the ways we’ll worship, serve, and grow together in the months ahead. As we begin this new season, I’ve been reflecting on this promise from Scripture:

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:19

What a beautiful reminder for January—God is always at work, always renewing, always leading us forward. A new year invites us to pause, look for God’s movement among us, and step into what’s next with faith and trust. My prayer is that 2026 will be a year where we notice those “new things” God is bringing to life at St. Mark’s—whether in our ministries, our relationships, our outreach, or even in the quiet ways God strengthens us week by week.

I also want to offer heartfelt thanks to my fellow Council members. Serving on Council takes time, energy, and a deep love for this congregation. I’m sincerely grateful for your dedication, support, and willingness to lead—and for the thoughtful care you bring to the work of the church. I’m looking forward to partnering with each of you in the coming year as we listen for God’s guidance and support the mission and ministry of St. Mark’s. Thank you, too, to this congregation for your prayers and encouragement. Please continue to keep the Council—and all of St. Mark’s leadership and ministry teams—in your prayers as we move into the year ahead. May God bless you and keep you as we begin this new year together.

With gratitude and hope,

Lea Ann Quimby
