Council Corner: February 2026
As we move into February, we’re reminded that this is often considered the “month of love.” As a
church, we are called to a love that’s deeper than a holiday—love that is lived out daily through
Christ. This month, I invite us to reflect on love in three directions:
● Love for ourselves: remembering we are God’s beloved, worthy of grace, rest, and renewal
● Love for our neighbors: choosing compassion, welcome, and service in our everyday actions
● Love for God: staying rooted in worship, prayer, and trust as we follow Jesus together
A few highlights from the approved December Council Meeting Minutes
At our most recent meeting (minutes approved in January), Council addressed several key items:
● Council leadership election: A new slate of officers was presented and approved, including
President – Lea Ann Quimby, Vice President – Pam Dilg, and Secretary – Sandy Lamb.
● Council housekeeping and administrative items were reviewed and confirmed, including our regular
meeting schedule (the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.). Contact information for all
Council members was updated, and Privacy/Confidentiality Forms have been signed by all new Council
members and will be kept on file. Council members were also reminded that NYS Sexual Harassment
Education is required annually for all employees and Council members via an online course, and
completion certificates should be emailed or texted to our Council Secretary, Sandy Lamb, for
filing.
● Communications and transparency: Beginning in January, once Council minutes are approved, they
will be posted for congregational access.
● Ministry support and forward planning: Council noted several continuing items, including support
for Pastor Bridget’s missionary work (a $3,000 check from the Youth Account was sent to support her
mission), progress on the Tech Station build, and review of Constitution Section 12.05.c being
tabled for continued discussion.
Closing thought for February. In this season, may we continue building a community shaped by
Christ’s love—caring for one another, serving our neighbors, and keeping God at the center of all
we do. Thank you for your faithfulness and for the many ways you support the ministry of St.
Mark’s.
Respectfully submitted,
Lea Ann Quimby, Council President
