Confirmation is the Rite of the Church whereby after a period of instruction baptized Christians are confirmed in their faith. Youth at St. Marks are confirmed after three years of instruction, which normally takes place in 6th, 7th and 8th grade Sunday School classes. The Rite of Confirmation occurs on Pentecost Sunday. The confirmation youth have an opportunity to attend a week-long Confirmation Camp at Vanderkamp Center in Cleveland NY, joining over a hundred other area Lutheran youth with their pastors in a week of fun, music, learning, and recreation.
Fifth to Eighth graders enjoy monthly activities such as ice-cream socials, boat making and sailing, hikes, overnight retreats, and a whole lot more. Adults volunteer to supervise activities.
High schoolers meet in our youth room every Sunday morning for discussion and fellowship. Both youth and Adults lead this class.
St. Mark's Teen Group for ninth to twelfth graders gathers on a regular basis. They get together for an activity, for a service project or just to hang out. If you are interested in learning more about the youth group please contact us.
In 2013 youth from St. Mark's teamed up with other area youth for the flight to New Orleans for opportunities to learn, fellowship and serve. Every youth experienced the time of their lives.
You can find Youth Gathering Videos on youtube that were produced by participants from other congregations.
